    Richard Howe Autograph Letter Signed "Howe". One page, 7.5" x 9.25", Portsmouth, May 8, 1776. In this letter the British rear admiral writes to an unnamed recipient shortly before he sailed for America, apologizing for the "shortness of my stay here." Fine condition.

    More Information:

    In part, "I have received by this post the subsidiary Treaty. . . . And tho' the shortness of my stay here will not allow time to trouble you further in the same way as present, should a future occasion require it, I shall take advantage of your kind offers."
