    Description

Princess Diana Autograph Letter Signed "Diana." Two pages, 6.25" x 8", on Diana's personal Kensington Palace letterhead, London, January 5, 1994, to Jayne Kear. The Princess of Wales writes, in full:

"The day your huge parcel arrived here the Christmas card I'd sent was returned as I had sent it to the wrong address! Thank you so much for our wonderful presents. My sweatshirt will certainly be the envy of Catherine & Katie!! You are full of kindness & the three of us are enormously touched by your generosity....We have fond memories of our visit to Walt Disney, but especially being with you....with much love..."

Jayne Kear was a longtime employee of Walt Disney World and served as the company's "chief protocol officer." Some staining of red on the verso, but not affecting the text. Else fine. With original transmittal envelope lined with red tissue paper addressed to "Jayne" in Diana's hand.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
