    Louis XVI Document Signed "Louis" as King of France. Partially-printed page, 9.25" x 14", February 21, 1792. An order to the Treasurer General, Jean-Baptiste Tourteau de Septeuil, ordering him to pay 58,333 livres, 6 sols, 8 écu to S. Le Brun at Fontainebleu, for the establishment of two fire-engines for a successful mill, in the northern part of St Dominique. On September 22, 1792, just seven months after signing this document, the French Republic was proclaimed. On December 11, 1792, King Louis XVI went before the National Convention to face charges of treason. He was convicted and guillotined on January 21, 1793.

    Condition: Slightly soiled at corners, small clean separation at center fold where weakness occurred. Two small holes on bottom half of document, do not affect text. Clear signature of King Louis XVI in the center of the document above the fold. Overall, in fine condition.
