DescriptionLeon Trotsky Typed Letter Signed, "fraternally yours/ L. Trotsky", one page, 6.5" x 8.25", Hotel Lux, February 6, 1926, to Jack Carney concerning James Larkin. The typed portion of this letter (roughly eight lines long) has faded making it difficult to read, but Trotsky's signature remains very bold; minor tape repair at fold.
Trotsky, the Russian revolutionary and Marxist theorist, writes in full: "Hotel Lux, Room 324./ Dear Comrade Carney, I was delighted to get the picturesque Irish sweater. Will you kindly convey my thanks to Comrade [James] Larkin for it. With communist greetings to yourself and Com. Larkin, I remain/ fraternally yours/L. Trotsky." Both Carney and Larkin were Irish Communist leaders.
