DescriptionKing George III of the United Kingdom Document Signed "George R." One page handwritten document, measures 7.8" x 12.5", dated June 27, 1792, from St. James court. The content is of a legal nature. King George III sat on the throne for over sixty years, during which time he presided over the loss of Britain's vital colonies in America and still reigned during the War of 1812. His last years were marred by bouts of insanity now believed to have resulted from a blood disease or poisoning from long-term exposure to a toxic substance.
The letter is in Very Good condition with several tears; one large tear on the upper edge slightly stretches across part of the king's signature, several small tears on the right edge, light toning on the right edge, and tape on the verso, slight soiling over entire document. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
