Guerra informs his colleague at Reynosa that the Mayor of Reynosa has traversed the countryside in his jurisdiction with 50 men in search of a band of Lipan Indians who are doing damage in the area of the salt mines (McAllen, Texas area). Asks that precautions be taken to protect lives and property. Severe dampstaining and toning with rough edges and chipping affecting a few words of text.

A draft of a letter to authorities explaining the shortage of mounts and the demoralizing effect it is having on the troops. Near fine condition. From the Taking of Texas Collection.
