One page, in French, 5.25" x 8" (sight), Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France, May 14, 1959, on stationery from Santo-Sospir, the villa owned by French socialite Francine Weisweiller, to a Monsieur Carrand. The acclaimed poet and filmmaker asks the letter's recipient to plainly state his intentions regarding needing a favor or assistance, then mentions a film he's having trouble finishing, possibly Testament of Orpheus. Double matted with the original transmittal envelope and a photo of Cocteau to an overall size of 17.75" x 17.75". Includes English translation. From the Estate of Rod McKuen.
