Description

Ho Chi Minh Photograph Signed "HoChiMinh". A black and white photo, 9.25" x 6.25", np, nd. This photograph depicts Ho Chi Minh raising a large drawing of himself above his head amidst a crowd of children and press. It appears to be a child's rendering of Ho Chi Minh. Ho Chi Minh was a revolutionary and Prime Minster of President of North Vietnam. He rose to prominence in the Western World for his role in the establishment of a communist state in Northern Vietnam, which caused mass exoduses of many different creeds of people during the 1950s. Despite his dictatorship and harsh policies, he is still somewhat of a cult hero in Vietnam, and thousands visit his Stalin-like mausoleum every year. He is fondly referred to as "Uncle Ho". The photograph is in very fine condition; one small stain in the upper right corner; minor edge wear; mounting traces on verso.
