Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery Document Signed, "B. L. Montgomery General". Printed broadside, "PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM THE C-in-C TO BE READ TO ALL THE TROOPS", one page, 6.5" x 11.0", France, August 21, 1944. Bernard Montgomery (1887-1976) was the foremost British commander in WWII's European Theater. His most memorable victory of the war came with the defeat of Rommel's Afrika Korps at El Alamein in November, 1942. Stopping the Axis tanks saved the Suez Canal for the Allies and led to the expulsion of Hitler's armies from North Africa. This printed broadside, written a mere two months after D-Day, congratulates Montgomery's troops for their part in cleansing Northwestern France of Germans. His signature, obviously a request, appears in the upper-left margin. Folds and light browning. Fine condition. Matted to a board along with this document is a Signed Photograph of Montgomery, 4.0" x 6.75", in which he autographed the lower margin, "Montgomery of Alamein F.M.". Slightly weak ink transfer in spots, yet still bold and legible. Fine condition. Overall dimensions are 17.0" x 15.0". Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
