Erwin Rommel Typed Letter Signed with a Signed Photograph. One page, 8" x 9" (sight), in German, [North Africa], May 12, 1942, confirming that the soldier listed, Kraftfahrer Alfred Kohlgrüber, is the same that is listed on a suggestion sheet for soldiers nominated to receive a commendation. Two small binding holes along the right edge. With a signed photograph of Rommel, 3" x 5" (sight), in uniform, holding his hat and scepter. Matted and framed to an overall size of 14.5" x 21.75".

Rommel, the Desert Fox, was forced out of North Africa after his defeat at the Second Battle of El Alamein (1942) and the landing of Allied troops in Morocco and Algeria. He returned to Germany and, by early 1944, was implicated in a plot to kill Hitler and was given the option for public trial or suicide. He chose to commit suicide and died by cyanide pill on October 14, 1944.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
