    Czar Nicholas II of Russia Document Signed "Nicolas" (Cyrillic). One page, 8.75" x 14", np, November 10, 1904. Nicholas II was the last Czar of Russia; he wrote this letter during the first year of the Russo-Japanese War. The document bears the printed heading "DECREE FOR THE CHAPTER OF RUSSIAN IMPERIAL AND ROYAL ORDERS." The document reads, "In recognition of exceptional bravery and courage during the war with Japan, Efimiy Voronov, Staff Captain with the Cavalry Squadron Quartermaster, Acting Head of a Department with the Main Quartermaster Service of the Army Infantry, is hereby awarded St. Stanislav's Order, 2nd Grade with Swords. Accordingly, the Chapter is hereby directed to issue an Order badge and Certificate to the above-mentioned person." Nicholas and his family were executed by the Bolsheviks shortly after he was forced to abdicate his throne in 1917.

    The letter is in very fine condition; no folds; docketing information present on lower edge; slight yellowing has occurred. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
