    Czar Nicholas Edict Signed "Nikolai." Two pages (front/back of one sheet), 8.5" x 14", Tsarskoe Selo, October 8, 1914. This edict in Russian, entitled "Edict to the Capitulum of Russian Imperial and Royal Orders," grants awards and medals to two Russian soldiers for completing "the curriculum of the School for Officers in 1912." In part, "We have Most Kindly bestowed upon them the title of Cavalier of Our Imperial and Royal third degree Order of St. Stanislave . . . Lieutenant Sergei Golovin of the 4th Battalion of Combat Engineers . . . and Lieutenant Ivan Chikhutov of the 6th Siberian Battalion of Combat Engineers, in consequence of which We Instruct the Capitulum to issue to these cavaliers the charters and insignia of the Orders." Stamped in the lower margin of the recto is the date October 17, 1914. The signature of the final emperor of Russia is large and bold.
