Captain José Cevallos Two Autograph Documents Signed. During his tenure as military commander of Monclova, Cevallos regularly sent notices that various communications had been received. Here we offer two of those communiqués. Document 1: Four pages with integral blank, 12mo, on paper with holograph heading "Comand. Mtar. De esta ciudad," Monclova, March 18, 1846. Acknowledges receipt of messages sent by General Rafael Vasquez and Colonel Francisco Castañeda. Document 2: Four pages with integral blank, 12mo, bearing holograph heading of the Monclova Militia, Monclova, May 13, 1846. Cevallos acknowledges receipt of an "extraordinary" mail communiqué from the Governor, for Colonel Francisco Castañeda, chief of the forces to the left of the line. Both items are lightly age toned with large bold signatures. Weakening at folds. Generally fine. From the Taking of Texas Collection.
