DescriptionAdolf Hitler World War II Dated Document Signed "A Hitler". One page, 7.25" x 9.25", typewritten, Führer headquarters, August 11, 1943. A promotion of [Walther] Lucht to lieutenant general, general of the artillery "In the name of the German People." The document has been countersigned by Hitler's adjutant, Lt. Gen. [Rudolf] Schmundt as Chief of the Army Personnel Office. Less than a year later, on July 20, 1944, Schmundt would die in the bunker at Wolfsschanze when Stauffenberg tried to assassinate Hitler with a bomb. About fine condition with one fold and some light soiling.
Also included in this lot is an original 4.75" x 6.75" B&W German printed photo taken at Reichsparteitag in 1934. These meetings were held annually as rallies for the National Socialist German Workers Party and are also referred to as the Nuremberg Rallies. Fine condition. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
