    [Mexican War]. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna Military Appointment Signed. One partially-printed page of a bifolium, 11" x 17", in Spanish, Mexico City, May 20, 1847, appointing Lt. Col. C. Carlos Oronóz of the 4th Regiment of Light Infantry for his actions at the Battle of Buena Vista, February 22 and 23, 1847. The battle was inconclusive and claimed as a victory by both sides. Docketed on page two as well as on the verso of the integral blank. Folds show weakening and separation in places, especially at the left edge.
