Description[Charles Albert, King of Sardinia]. Bestowal Document for the Sardinian Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus, Secretarially Signed "C. Alberto." Four integral parchment pages in plain vellum covers, 9.5" x 12.75", in Italian (not translated), Turin, September 11, 1845. Affixed by cords to the document is the wax seal of the Royal Arms of the Kingdom of Sardinia housed in a 3.75" metal skippet. The document names French General Alexandre Pierre Moline de Saint-Yon as a commander of the Sardinian Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus and is countersigned by seven officers of the order. Both documents have folds and minor soiling. The seal is sharply struck very attractive.
More Information: General Yon fought with the French Army during the Napoleonic Wars. Yon was recalled to service during the July Monarchy as Director of Personnel and Operations at the Department of War, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour and attained the rank of Lieutenant-General before his retirement from public life in 1848. King Charles Albert succeeded to the throne of Sardinia in 1831 and abdicated in favor of his son, Victor Emmanuel, after a disastrous war with Austria in 1848. He died a year later in exile. The document is sold with the authorization by the Office of the Royal Order of the Legion of Honour allowing General Yon to accept the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
HA.com receives more traffic than any other auction house website. (Source: Similarweb.com)
