Niels Bohr Typed Letter Signed. One page on imprinted letterhead, 8.75" x 11.25"; Copenhagen, Denmark; December 22, 1950. A letter addressed to Mr. Wetterau with scientific content. In part: "It is quite correct that discontinuities are not directly apparent in experience and, strictly speaking, all observations refer ultimately to coincidencies of events in space and time. As you will see from the articles, the lesson we have received in quantum physics is rather the necessity of widening the viewpoints for ordering experience so as to leave room for the fundamental laws governing atomic phenomena which involve the stability of atoms and chemical molecules and the remarkable law of discrete spectra..." Signed, "Niels Bohr." Niels Bohr (1885-1962) received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922 for his work in understanding the atomic structure and quantum theory.Condition: Flattened folds. Heavy creasing with a few minute tears along right and left margins. One holographic emendation to letter.
