Rare mention of Armstrong's "autograph request stacks."

Neil Armstrong Typed Letter Signed. One page, 8.5" x 11" University of Cincinnati letterhead, October 14, 1974, to Larry G. Hastings, the Senior Information Officer at Comsat. Armstrong replies to an inquiry, in part: "Thanks to your letter, the situation has all become clear. Your earlier letter was placed in my autograph request stacks which became very high during the summer... My secretary was able to locate it among my unanswered letters. I'm happy to enclose your presentation page along with best wishes... [signed] Neil Armstrong". Please note the following lot; it contains the presentation page mentioned in this letter. Mr. Hastings was heavily involved in Project Vanguard, a program to send a satellite into earth orbit during the late 1950s and continued working with related projects. Fine condition with light wear and a narrow line of tape along the right edge. All flaws could be matted out.
