Description

Neil Armstrong Signed Limited Edition Paul Calle Lithograph (#588/1000). An 18" x 27" (sight size) B&W lithographed pencil sketch of Neil Armstrong as he suited up on July 16, 1969, for his rendezvous with history. It is matted to an overall 24" x 34". Paul Calle was one of eight artists chosen by NASA in 1962 to document the U.S. space program and was the only artist present when the crew of Apollo 11 prepared for launch. His design was chosen for the "First Man on the Moon" postage stamp celebrating Armstrong's momentous first step. Armstrong and Calle both signed this print in pencil on December 23, 1976, when it went on sale at the National Air and Space Museum to raise money for the Charles Lindbergh Memorial Fund. Excellent.
