    U.S. WWI and WWII Military Hero Group of Three Typed Letters Signed by Alvin York, Hap Arnold, and Eddie Rickenbacker. All near fine to fine.

    Alvin York Typed Letter Signed, "Sgt. Alvin C. York". One page on Alvin C. York Agricultural Institute letterhead, 8.5" x 11", June 23, 1930, Jamestown, Tennessee, to Sadie Raymond of New York. Following WWI, Medal of Honor recipient York founded the agricultural institute, a private agricultural school. Toned; fine. Included is a pamphlet describing the institute.


    Hap Arnold Typed Letter Signed, "H. H. Arnold" as general of the army. One page on "Headquarters, Army Air forces/ Washington" letterhead, 8" x 10.5", September 20, 1945, Washington, to Lois Howard. Arnold is requesting help to find a mysterious B-24 pilot. Included is the transmittal envelope with "Gen. H. A. Arnold" signature about the war department return address. Five-Star General Henry Harley "Hap" Arnold (1886-1950) was the only U.S. officer to hold a five-star grade in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1946. Near fine.


    Eddie Rickenbacker Typed Letter Signed as president and general manager of Eastern Air Lines. One page, 7.25" x 10.5", February 27, 1942, New York, to the adjutant general, making a recommendation for Rex L. Uden to be considered "for an appointment in the United States Air Service." Rickenbacker was a WWI fighter ace and Medal of Honor recipient. He helped lead Eastern Air Lines to become a major international transportation company. With folds; fine.
