    Union Brigadier General Charles Davis Jameson Document Signed "C. D. Jameson / Brig. Genl. Vol." One page. 7.75" x 9.75". Fort Lyon, Virginia. October 11, 1861. General Charles D. Jameson (1827-1862) signs a document titled General Orders No. 1, in which he is assigned command of four regiments of Pennsylvania Volunteer infantry. It reads, in part: "I having been assigned by Special Order No. 1 Head quarters Genl. Heintzelmans Division near Fort Lyon Oct. 11th 1861 to the command of the following regiments...". The order was signed about three months after then Colonel Jameson let his troops at the First Battle of Bull Run. Jameson was subsequently wounded at the Battle of Fair Oaks shortly thereafter succumbing to "camp fever". Modest age toning and old smoothed fold creases, otherwise a bright, legible document in excellent condition.
