    Thomas L. Scott Confederate Parole Signed "Thos. L. Scott." One partially printed page, 8" x 7", Thomasville, Georgia; May 24, 1865. Issued to "J.S. Holmes a Private of the H Regiment of Ga Cavalry" who does "solemnly swear that I will not bear arms against the United States of America, or give any information, or do any military duty whatsoever until regulation exchanged as a prisoner of war..." The parole also offers a physical description of Holmes. Docketed on the left side and on verso. The left reads in part: "US Qrs recpt of the Gulf Office Pro Mar Genl. New Orleans May 22, 1868/Reported and Registered..."

    Condition: Flattened folds, with some separations and holes at the folds. Uneven toning, soiling, and dampstaining, some affecting the signature. Chipping at the edges.
