    Description

The Civil War and Post Bellum Papers of Brevet Major General John C. Tidball (1825-1906). An excellent archive consisting of approximately 45 pieces of manuscript and printed correspondence dating between 1864 and 1880 retained by John C. Tidball, an artillery officer who was brevetted brigadier and major general for gallant and distinguished services in the battle of Spotsylvania Court House, and Forts Steadman and Sedgwick, Virginia. A member of the West Point class of 1848, Tidball remained in the army serving in San Francisco as well as Fortress Monroe, Virginia. Papers include manuscript and printed general orders, many respecting his service on various courts martial, as well as general orders, correspondence and the like. Includes early correspondence from the Superintendent of Freedman, Vicksburg, April, 1864 and other material. Conditions ranges form very good to fine condition. Worthy of further research.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
