Texas Rangers - Edward Burleson, Jr. Autograph Document Signed, one page with docket note on verso, 7.25" x 11.5", Eagle Pass, Aug. 21, 1856. Entirely in Burleson's hand, the document bonds Burleson for a herd of horses crossed by him: "I, E Burleson do hold myself Bound to John B. Rich for any moneys that he may have to pay for me on account of a cobalado crossed by me." Additionally signed by Bernard David and Louis Sheihagen beneath attesting that they will also answer to any charges made. Dampstaining, at the margins, affecting just a few words of text, otherwise very good to near fine. Docketed on verso in Spanish: "Bonding of a horse herd that was crossed today, August 21, 1856."
