    Texas C.S.A. Circular: General Orders No. 11, Signed by Adjutant and Inspector General Jeremiah Y. Dashiell. One page, 5" x 7", "Adjutant General's Office, Austin, April 4, 1862." Governor Francis R. Lubbock's Adjutant General and Inspector General of Texas during the Civil War, Jeremiah Y. Dashiell, issued the following orders, in part: "I. The prompt collection of the revenue of the State being deemed necessary to facilitate the civil and military operations of the Government, the Brigadier-Generals are directed to relieve from military duty the Assessor and Collector of State Taxes, for each county in their Brigade." Order II states, in part: "Persons seeking exemption from the operation of the Military Law, are requested to apply to their respective Brigadier-Generals, submitting all the facts and circumstances upon which the application is based." Signed in ink: "J. Y. Dashiell." Light age-toning. Very fine condition.
