Superb Lot of Six Confederate General's Signatures including Samuel Cooper, William Miller, Gideon Johnson Pillow, Thomas Lafayette Rosser, William Steele, and Marcus Joseph Wright.More Information: Samuel Cooper, pre-Civil War two-page printed document publishing the finding of a court of court martial, 4.75" x 7.5", dated April 1, 1853, signed "S. Cooper", slightly toned along the edges with old binding holes, else fine; William Miller, one page autograph letter honoring a request for an autograph, 7.5" x 9.75", dated October 4, 1881, signed "W. Miller", with trivial fading and the usual fold creases, else clear and legible and in very good condition; Gideon Johnson Pillow clipped war time signature "Gid. J. Pillow" (Gideon Johnson Pillow) 4" x 2.25", matted with an engraved portrait of the general, 6" x 5.75", with some mounting remnants on the verso, otherwise in fine condition; Thomas Lafayette Rosser, autograph card, 3.5" x 2.25", signed "1905/ Thos. Rosser/ Major General of Cav. C.S.A. 1861-5/ Brig. Genl. Of Infantry U.S. Vols. 1898-9", mounted on cardboard with portrait excised from a book and a newspaper article announcing Rosser's appointment as postmaster of Charlottesville, Virginia, and a contemporary photograph, 3.5" x 5.5", mounted on backing board and hand captioned, all in near fine condition; William Steele, one-page autograph document dated October 11, 1845, signed "Wm Steele" (William Steele), as a lieutenant, with the usual fold creases, ink slightly faded, else in very good condition; and Marcus Joseph Wright, one page autograph letter, 5.25" x 8", dated May 30, 1910, signed "Marcus J Wright" (Marcus Joseph Wright).
