Silas Casey Partial Autograph Letter Signed "Silas Casey, Maj. Gen." A 7.3" x 2.3", partial handwritten page, signed in bold, dark ink. The letter reads, "The time of the present contest with the States in Rebellion involves the liberty of millions yet unborn, not only our own, but in other lands." Silas Casey was a decorated Major General in the Union Army during the Civil War. He served for over 40 years in active duty before he retired. He wrote several volumes on war and politics during his career. A fantastic general and thinker!

The letter is in fine condition; looks as good as the day it was written. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
