Juan Jose Galan Autograph Letter Signed. Two and a half pages, 6" x 8.25", San Fernando, Nov. 16, 1836, to an unknown recipient regarding his continued business dealing with the Republic of Texas. In part: "I have news that at la Bahia [Goliad], Luciano and his brother the Cripple [Santa Anna] have disembarked, and I know positively that Eugenio is on his way to Bejar with a government passport. He is going to bring the goods that the others were bringing and it would be good to effect a partnership... The arrival of Eugenio is for sure, as is the introduction of goods by Luciano and Jose Antonio Navarro. You arrange the deals as best you can for us and tell me what we are to do to make a little money..." Great content letter illustrating the continued interdependence between Mexico and the newly established Republic of Texas. Captain Juan Jose Galan led the squad which captured Benjamin Milam with Agustin Viesca on Santa Anna's orders in 1835. In this letter he advises the recipient of the arrival of Eugenio, brother of Texas Declaration signer, Jose Antonio Navarro. Individuals as well as military personnel from both armies would engage in opportunities as they arose in order to support themselves and their families. Continued hostilities between their governments had little impact on the day-to-day realities of commerce. Near fine condition with a few toning spots. From the Taking of Texas Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
