John B. Magruder Document Signed Twice at Brevet Lt. Colonel. Two pages, two sided, including integral blank, 8" x 12.25", Fort Adams, Rhode Island, September 30, 1859. Career military officer John Bankhead Magruder served in the armies of three nations; he was a U.S. Army officer in the Mexican-American War, a Confederate general during the American Civil War, and a postbellum general in the Imperial Mexican Army. With this document, 1st Lieutenant Henry W. Closon affirms that, while on duty at Fort Adams, he swears that nothing about his housing at Fort Adams "could be assigned to Capt. & Bvt. Lieut. Col J.B. Magruder." He goes on to state that he has neither requested nor received "quarters, rent, or fuel, by the public, nor received a commutation of money in lieu thereof." Boldly signed twice by Magruder. Docketed on verso of second blank leaf. Document is lightly age toned and has a few minor areas of fold separation, but is generally in fine condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
