J.E.B. Stuart Autograph Letter Signed "K.G.S." One page, 4" x 6", "Camp Pelham"; April 27, 1863. Addressed to "My Dear Nannie", which may refer to Ann Overton "Nannie" Price. It reads in full: "Allow me to introduce to you my special friend Lt Goldsborough A.D.C. who has heard such glowing accounts of that little Paradise of which you are the guardian spirit, that he is desirous of having something more than hearsay acquaintance with its charms. Be gentle with him and deal tenderly with him for my sake. In hast yours." Stuart signs the letter "K.G.S.", which stood for Knight of the Golden Spurs. After receiving a set of golden spurs as a gift from the "Ladies of Baltimore", a patriotic group of Baltimore women who supported the Confederacy and its troops, General Stuart frequently referred to himself in letters as the Knight of the Golden Spurs, illustrating his fondness for chivalry.

Condition: Flattened mail folds and minor foxing. Clear signature.
