Former Admiral of the Navy Dewey (1837-1917) writes a thank you letter to Captain C. D. Sigsbee for sending Dewey a copy of "...compilation relative to cost and values of various types of United States vessels." Folds.[and:] George Dewey Commemorative Ribbon. 2.5" x 4.75". Reads "Rear Admiral George Dewey, he remembered the Maine." [and:] George Dewey Cabinet Card with Printed Signature. 5" x 7", n.p., n.d. Cabinet card reads "Best & Goes Farthest" along both right and left sides. Shows photograph of Dewey in uniform, chest up, looking off to the right. Printed signature reads "George Dewy. Commander U.S. Army"
