    Description

    General William Barksdale Clipped Signature "Wm Barksdale Columbus Miss." Small slip, 5.5" x 2.25". General Barksdale was Editor of the Columbus Democrat before he joined the Confederate army. He was mortally wounded at Gettysburg on the second day of the battle while leading his Mississippi Brigade. He died the following day (July 3, 1863) in a Union field hospital.
