    Description

    General Thomas L. Crittenden Signature and Carte de Visite. Two items, as follows: (1) An ink cut signature on a 3" x 0.875" sheet "T. L. Crittenden/ Maj Gen Comdg". (2) A seated pose in uniform, identified on verso, with blind photographer's stamp "Webster & Bro/ Louisville" on front lower margin. Much of the Kentucky-born Crittenden family fought on the Union side in the Civil War though his brother George was a CSA general. Thomas's son, John Jordan Crittenden III, served in the U.S. Army and died with Custer at Little Bighorn. Both fine.
