    General Robert E. Rodes: War-date Endorsement Signed. 3.25" x 2" document on blue-lined laid paper, inscribed: "Hd. Qrs. D. H. Hill Division Mch. 3, 1863 Respectfully forwarded appd. R. E. Rodes Brig Gen Comg". Inscription somewhat light. Robert E. Rodes (1829-1864) fought at 1st Manassas, Seven Pines, South Mountain, Sharpsburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, the Wilderness and Spotsylvania. He was mortally wounded on September 19, 1864 at Winchester, Virginia.
