    Description

    General Philip H. Sheridan Autograph Letter Signed "P.H. Sheridan." Three pages, 5" x 6.5", Chicago, January 14, 1882. The letter is written to someone named Strong, the content is about various mounts that Sheridan had obtained; it reads in part, "…I take advantage of this moment to write & thank you for the Turkey. It is one of the largest Wild Turkeys I have ever seen & is beautifully set up. The head neck & eyes are especially attractive. I have also to thank you for the Head of the Antelope you killed on the summit of the Big Horn…"

    The letter is in fine condition; usual folds are present; letter is mounted on a larger sheet of paper; soiling present on edges and along fold lines. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
