    General John F. Reynolds Document Signed "John P. Reynolds Maj. General, Army." Two pages, 7.2" x 9.8", Memoranda from Headquarters, March 15, 1863. This document has a head that reads, "Daily Memoranda for information of the Major General Commanding." The document was used to write down orders and various data about the officer's regiment. The verso of this document has several lines of text written about various divisions; General Reynolds signs the document in the lower right corner. Reynolds was a well-respected and capable commander; he was loved by his soldiers and peers. He was killed at Gettysburg while overseeing the fighting near McPherson's Woods. He was struck in the neck with a bullet and died almost instantly. He signed these orders only months before he was killed. The document is in very fine condition; usual folds are present; stain present on the lower right corner. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
