    Darius Cobb Signed Lithograph The Last Comrade's Final Tribute, ALS, and Associated G.A.R. Letter. A fantastic association group to Cobb's popular painting titled The Last Comrade's Final Tribute, commissioned by the Headquarters Department of Massachusetts Grand Army of the Republic. The lot includes a boldly signed 20" x 16" lithograph of Cobb's original eight feet by six feet painting. Additionally there is a large mounted albumen photograph of a 1902 Boston, Massachusetts G.A.R. meeting. On the verso of the studio board are affixed two letters, one an 8 ½" x 11" one page typed letter on Headquarters Department of Massachusetts Grand Army of the Republic letterhead, dated February 28, 1910 discussing Cobb's painting and the intention of the G.A.R. to present his painting to the state of Massachusetts to be hung in the state capitol. The letter is signed by Assistant Adjutant General Israel H. DeWolf. The other letter is a one page, undated, autograph letter signed by Cobb discussing special engravings of the painting which were produced by Griffith Stillings Press. Cobb's iconic The Last Comrade's Final Tribute was a popular image at the time and was also sold in postcard format.
