Confederate General P.G.T. Beauregard: Rare Signed Carte De Visite (CDV) On the Day Of Fort Sumter Surrender!
This is perhaps one of the most historic photographs of the Civil War. A signed CDV of the Confederate General who led the attack on Fort Sumter, and then dated the photograph the day he accepted Major Robert Anderson's surrender. Beauregard has boldly signed the mount below his image adding his rank "Brig Gen Comdg". On the verso is a Quimby Charleston, SC photographs sticker as well as the date, in Beauregard's hand, "Charleston, SC April 13, 1861". An amazing rarity in fine condition.
