Confederate General Fitzhugh Lee Post-War Autograph Letter Signed "Fitz Lee". One page, 5" x 8", May 23, 1901, Washington, D.C. This is a wonderfully personal letter, in fine condition with the usual old fold creases.

More Information:  Lee graces a married woman's request for an autograph in this flirty letter which reads in part: "...I was so very sorry I/ could not tarry with you/ on my way from the West,/ but your admirer had/ to hurry on to Washington./ If Mr. Weir is absent, add/ the word warm before admirer!/...Yours to count on/ Fitz Lee". Lee, a West Point graduate and nephew of Robert E. Lee, was part of the Army of Northern Virginia and was wounded at the Battle of Winchester.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
