    Collection of Civil War Items including: Captain Frederick Ranger Autograph Letter Signed. "Fred." Three and one-half pages, 5" x 8", Camp Augur, Upton's Hill [Virginia], March 2, 1862. In original envelope. Addressed to his father, he talks about business back home and life in camp. At the time he was a 2nd Lieutenant in Company F, 22nd New York Infantry. Slightly torn at the top horizontal fold crease and the vertical fold is weakened and broken in places. Overall, in very fine condition. [and:] Small Pocket Notebook. Unpaginated, 3.5" x 5.5", in a black carrying case, n. p, n. d. Lined paper contains lyrics of songs popular at the time, poems, and some general musings. Case is well-worn and paper is darkened with age. [and:] Photograph. 2.5" x 2.75" overall in old rimmed frame. Soldier is wearing a brimmed hat with sergeant's stripes on his sleeves.
