    Catharinus P. Buckingham: Carte de Visite and Document Signed. CDV of Buckingham with gold ruled borders and Brady back mark (trimmed at bottom). Sold with an 8" x 10" military commission signed "C. P. Buckingham Adj. Genl." at the bottom, appointing Nathan Bostwick a 2nd Lieutenant in the 20th Regiment of Ohio Volunteers. Catharinus Putnam Buckingham (1808-1888) was the Adjutant General of Ohio, a Brigadier General, special assistant to Secretary of War Edwin Stanton and West Point instructor. He personally delivered the order relieving George B. McClellan of command.
