Catesby ap Roger Jones Autograph Letter Signed "Catesby ap Roger Jones." One page, 8" x 7.5", Gainesville [Alabama], April 29, 1865. Written while aboard the C. S. Steamer Black Diamond and addressed to Sergeant John H. Haw, Co. I, 15th Virginia Infantry, the letter reads in full:

"Sir, You will proceed without delay to Macon, Miss. And report to Capt. Brice, C. S. A. for temporary duty in such government shops as he may designate.

"You will inform me of what orders you receive and keep me advised of your address
    ."

Letter is heavily damaged along the edges and stained, but the text is clear and beautifully written. Very good condition.

Together with R. B. Wright Autograph Letter Signed "R. B. Wright." One page, 8" x 10", Richmond, August 3, 1864. Addressed to John H. Haw instructing him to report to Commander Catesby ap Roger Jones at the Naval Works located at Selma, Alabama, it reads in full:

"Transportation is herewith furnished you, and you will be allowed your regular per diem pay, for the time that you are necessarily on route. By command officer in charge

Ink has bled, but text is still legible. Fold creases are weakened and broken near the top; text remains unaffected. Very good.
