    Captain Stephen D. Ross of the Texas 34th Cavalry, Two Signed Requisitions. Each requisition measures approximately 7.25" x 5.75". The first is dated October 25, 1864 and is clothing including shoes, pants, shirts, et al. Ross signs with his rank to certify that the goods "are absolutely requisite for the public service, rendered so by the following circumstances, viz: men destitute of the articles mentioned." The second receipt is dated December 2, 1864 and is for two shirts, 1 pair of drawers and 1 pair of socks. Ross signs to certify that the items are for his use. Together with two tintypes that have later identifications in pencil as being Ross, and a carte de visite identified as Ross's wife on verso.
    Condition: Both receipts have dealer pricing in pencil at front on lower left corner. The December receipt has a notation in pencil at top right that the requisition should be returned to Mrs. Hattie Ross. Both documents have folds with heavy wear and foxing. The October document has creasing and tearing along top. Image of Hattie Ross has identification in ball point pen across albumen, as well as in purple pencil on mount beneath image. One of the tintypes is in a paper holder with heavy wear and paper loss at top right.
