    Captain Michael Musmanno's Personal Copy of the Nuremberg Trials Military Tribunal II, Concurring Opinion. The United States of America -against- Oswald Pohl, August Frank, Georg Loerner, Heinz Karl Fanslau, Hans Loerner, Joseph Vogt, Erwin Tschentscher, Rudolf Scheide, Max Kiefer, Franz Eirenschmailz, Karl Sommer, Herman Pook, Hans Baier, Hans Hohberg, Leo Volk, Karl Mummenthey, Hans Bobermin, and Horst Klein, Defendants. 158 pages, 4to (8" x 11"). Dark blue cloth over boards with gilt title. Signed and inscribed on the front endpaper: "July 2, 1958 To Norman Cousins - With admiration, esteem and regard, Sincerely Michael A. Musmanno." These are the official transcripts of the trial, and includes the charges, testimonies, and proceedings.

    Michael Musmanno had served as a naval officer during the Second World War, before presiding over the Einsatzgruppen Trial at Nuremberg. He would also serve as a judge during the military trial of Pohl from 1947-1948 of Oswald Pohl and seventeen other SS officers for crimes against humanity and war crimes during WWII and the Nazi regime. Oswald and three others were convicted and sentenced to death. The book offered here is Musmanno's personal copy as evidenced by his name stamped on the top board. Ex. Norman Cousins Estate.

    Condition: Lacking the spine, but binding remains intact. Heavy wear to boards along edges and corners. Pages are toned throughout, ranging from light to medium.
