Autograph Letter Signed by three Union Army Generals. This lot features a one-page document, handwritten on the obverse and reverse, which recommends a Lt. Colonel Pinto for the position of Colonel. It measures 6" x 7.3", and is dated June 10, 1862. Three Union generals write a similar passage and then sign. This document is an amazing piece of history. Not only is it a piece of the Civil War, but it contains three high ranking, and famous, general's signatures all on one sheet of paper. The recommendation, according to Gen. W.B. Franklin, reads as follows, " fully concur in the opinions and views expressed by Gen. Slocum and Newton, and know that Lt Col Pinto posess in a high degree the requisites for the command of a regiment. I cordially recommend him for the position of Colonel."

This document is in fine condition; all three sections are in great shape, with dark and crisp ink. It is nicely mounted on a back paper. This is a nice chance to own three different letters, written in three different hands, and all on the same page. Fantastic. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
