    Archive of Confederate Ephemera. Comprised of over ten letters, photographs, clipped signatures, currency, and other documents signed by notables in the Confederate military or government spanning the years 1853 through 1900. Contained within are several clipped signatures of Confederate generals including Bushrod Johnson (with an accompanying carte de visite), John D. Imboden, Robert F. Hoke, Martin L. Smith, and Joseph L. Brent. Also included is a one page autograph letter of introduction from Virginia Senator James Mason (the future Confederate commissioner to the United Kingdom and France) to then-secretary of war, Jefferson Davis. With a Gen. Charles Field signed cabinet card; a Virginia Senator and Confederate Major John W. Daniel typed letter signed; a war-dated receipt for clothing signed by Gen. Franklin Gardner; a soldier's discharge signed by Gen. Charles M. Shelley; an 1853 South Carolina $5 note signed by future general, Clement H. Stevens; et al. All are in very good or better condition.
