    Description

    A. P. Hill Signed Endorsement on verso of a letter from a soldier addressed to Colonel Taylor requesting a leave of absence to care for his family. Single sheet, 8.5" x 9.25". Hill signs "A.P. Hill" on the verso, dated December 28, 1864. W.H. Taylor, to whom the letter is addressed, approves the request with his signature at top right on the verso.

    Condition: The original letter on the recto has all but faded; however, Hill's signature remains quite bold on the verso.
