    1780 Philadelphia Revolutionary War "Horse" Bond. One page, 7.5" x 5.5", Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, August 18, 1780. This is a Revolutionary War bond for the purchase of a horse by the Army of the United States. It is partially printed in dark black on period laid paper. A payment form is completed for " Bay Mare with a Large Snip...," and appraised in value by "two Freeholders, on Oath...." It is spared from the typical ink notations, but is docketed on the blank reverse. The bond is in very fine condition, the left edge has been trimmed, and a few small areas of foxing are present in the lower quadrants.
