    [World War II]. First Day Cover Signed by Enola Gay's Paul Tibbets and Tom Ferebee. 6.5" x 3.75". With postal cancellation dated August 14, 1995. Signed "Tom Ferebee / Bombardier" and "Paul Tibbets". Some soiling.

    More Information:

    A first day cover is a stamped envelope or card which was cancelled by the post office on the first day where the postage stamp was issued and has a cancellation mark indicating same. The cancellation was a response to protests of Japanese and American officials regarding a planned commemorative stamp of the 50th Anniversary of World War II's end, using the image of the atomic bomb.
