[Space Exploration] Collection of Astronaut Autographs including: Robert A. Rushworth Autograph Note Signed. One page, 6" x 4", n. p, n. d. Rushworth (1924-1993) was a test pilot for the North American X-15 program. Of his experience, he writes in full: "Flying the X-15 was both fun and challenging. Even though the three aircraft were initially designed the same, later modifications gave them individual characteristics which proved interesting to the pilots." His flights in the X-15 above 50 miles allowed him to receive his astronaut wings. [and:] Charlie Duke Autograph Note Signed. One page, 6" x 4", n. p, n. d. Charlie Duke (b. 1934) is in select company as not only one of the twelve men to have walked on the moon, but also the youngest to have done so. He writes, in part: "The space program has been a great benefit to our nation. I was pleased to have been a part of Apollo. It was a great adventure to walk on the moon." [and:] James Irwin Autograph Quotation Signed. One page, 6" x 4", n. p, n. d. John Irwin (1930-1991) was a member of the Apollo 15 lunar mission and one of twelve men to walk on the lunar surface. He quotes Austin "Dusty" Miller in full: "Man's flight through live is sustained by the power of his knowledge." All are in extra fine condition and would be at home in any space collection.Auction Info
